Job Fair update

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce has a Job Fair planned for Wednesday, May 25th. Present at the Job Fair will be - Accent, WGS Global Services, ThyssenKrupp Waupaca, WorkOne Southwest, Oakland City University, and Blue River Services. The job fair will run from 1-6:00 pm. Goody's Ribbon Cutting

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting for the Goody’s on Wednesday, May 18th at 8:45 am. The ribbon cutting will be held to celebrate the changeover from Peebles to Goody’s.

The Goody’s store is located in the Lincoln Park Plaza shopping center at 19 US Highway 66 in Tell City. The Goody’s and Peebles are owned by Stage Stores.

Loyal Peebles shoppers need not worry though, because Goody’s will carry an expanded assortment of the quality, brand name apparel and accessories Peebles customers know and love, plus a great selection of juniors and men’s apparel that made Goody’s a destination for the latest looks.

Customers who are eager to get a first glimpse of the new Goody’s store can attend the 8:45 a.m. ribbon cutting, with doors swinging wide open to welcome all shoppers at 9 a.m. Shopper reward programs such as a membership discount for customers 50 and over, military discount and VIP Rewards membership will also be available at the new Goody’s.

Spring Chamber Job Fair Planned

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Job Fair with area businesses on Wednesday, May 25th. The job fair will be held at the Schergens Center from 1-6:00 pm.

All interested businesses are invited to setup booths promoting employment in their company. Booth rental for Chamber members is $100 for large employers and $50 for small employers; non-members is $200 for large employers and $100 for small employers. The job fair is free to educational institutions, workforce development agencies, and local government.

Setup is available the morning of May 25th starting at 10:00 am at the Schergens Center. One covered 8’ table, 2 chairs, company identification sign (with the logo if provided by the employer) and an on-site candidate interview area will be provided for each booth.

Perry County Chamber of Commerce Business Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 at the Hoosier Heights Country Club, Lunch – 11:00, Tee-Off – Noon
4 Person Scramble, Shotgun Start. Deadline to enter Monday, May 9th.

Provide an item for the golfer’s goody bag with your business name on it!
We’ll provide a tournament “goody bag” filled with lots of items for use by the golfers, which are donated by local businesses. Here are some ideas of items we could use: (we’ll need 40 of each): Golf towels, tees, golf bag tags, balls, divot repair tool, golf marking pens, ball markers, golf pencils, pens, hats, visors, sunglasses, soft drink holders/coolers/lids, water bottles, shirts, umbrellas, waist packs, windbreakers, headbands/wristbands, key chains, calculators, pre-paid phone cards, mini measuring tapes, you get the idea!

Provide a Gift for use as a door prize or raffle item:
If you don’t have something that will go in the golfer’s tote, we need lots of prizes to give away as door prizes. Anything that represents your business is appreciated. Any larger donations may be raffled off or used at hole contests (with your business listed on on-course signage) and all others given as door prizes to golfers. Any gift will be greatly appreciated from restaurant certificate, movie passes, lawn or garden products, etc.

All donors will be listed in the player’s programs and on news releases about the tournament.

JC Penney Catalog Store Ribbon Cutting Set

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting for the JC Penney Catalog Store on Monday, May 16th at 10:00 am. The ribbon cutting will be held to celebrate the purchase and relocation of the store. The open house will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm the same day.

The JC Penney Catalog store is moving to the Dauby Hardware location. The owner is Debbie Ramsey.

Gerlach and Gayer Ribbon Cutting

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting for Gerlach and Gayer Custom Collision Center on Friday, April 8th at noon to celebrate their new business. The open house will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm the following day, Saturday, April 9th.

Eli Gerlach and Clint Gayer are the owners of Gerlach and Gayer Custom Collision Center which is located at 1133 Main Street, in Tell City (former Kenny & Steve’s). Gerlach and Gayer Collision Center offers auto body repair, restorations, detailing, window tinting, stereo and sub installs and spray-in bed liners. Their hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Domestic Goddess Ribbon Cutting

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting for Domestic Goddess Salon and Boutique, LLC on Friday, March 11th at noon to celebrate the grand opening of their store in Tell City. Domestic Goddess is located at 745 Main Street in Tell City. They will host an open house from 9:00 am-5:30 pm the same day.

Domestic Goddess Boutique has new inventory available in jewelry, lotions, purses, candles, home décor, food items, coffees and totes. Domestic Goddess Salon has three stylists in their full service hair salon, manicurist, pedicurist and a massage therapist available. Domestic Goddess Salon and Boutique is owned by Teresa Lutgring and Diann Williams. The salon is open by appointment and the boutique is open Monday – Friday 9-5:30 and Saturday 9-3:00.

Cromwell Radio Group Ribbon Cutting

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting for Cromwell Radio Group – WTCJ-FM on Tuesday, February 15th at 9:00 am to celebrate the re-opening of their “hometown radio” studio in Tell City. Cromwell Radio Group – WTCJ-FM is once again located at 645 Main Street in Tell City, above German American Bank and will host an open house from 8-10:00 am the same day.

WTCJ-FM/105.7 will air “Mornings with Mike Chaney” each morning – including during the open house. The program will have a hometown emphasis with local advertising and public service announcements. Listen in to the 24 hour broadcasting or by appointment for a personal visit.

Petals Floral Shop Ribbon Cutting

The Perry County Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting for Petals Floral Shop on Tuesday, February 8th at 11:30 am to celebrate their new business location. Petals Floral Shop is now located at 425 Main Street in Tell City, the former Flower Basket building.

David Carney is the owner of Petals Floral Shop and VIP Foliage (Petals former location), with Becky Paulin, Linda Eger and Martha Schaeffer working at the new location. Petals carries fresh and silk flowers, balloons, wind chimes, afghans and plants. Petals also has rentals for weddings and banquets such as tuxes, table linens, chair back coverings, glassware, arches and pedestals. Petals is open Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am-12:00 pm, and Sundays for calls only.
